Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the figure provided indicating the speed of the connection. Each value is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that offer download speeds. The categories that may be displayed are:

Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

Mobile phone signal availability and anticipated strength

Mobile signal forecasts are furnished by the four UK mobile network providers: EE, O2, Three, and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the actual coverage due to local aspects (particularly terrain). Ofcom has conducted tests on the real coverage provided in various locations across the UK to help assure the reasonableness of these forecasts. The values assigned to a property are characterized as follows:

Clear: No signal predicted, no bars
Red: One bar, unlikely to have a reliable signal
Amber: Two bars, potential connectivity issues
Green: Three bars, expected good coverage supporting basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have strong indoor coverage and benefit from an improved data rate for multimedia services
